The easiest way to run a service is to use the submit service request page, which is available from the admin page.
This lets you enter a service request in XML format, and see the response in XML. To try it out, use the request <GetUser/>.
The submit service request page automatically adds credentials (user logon reference and password) to each service call unless you select the option not to.
