Metrici respects and protects the privacy of our customers and visitors to our web site.
There are four main categories of information that we collect when you visit our web site and use our services:
- Information gathered automatically by our web servers.
- Personal details captured to support our marketing activities.
- Registration information entered into our Metrici service.
- Content entered into our Metrici service.
Web server information
When you visit our web site, our web server collects some basic information such as your internet service provider's domain name, which pages you accessed on our site, and when.
We only use this information to analyse the use of our web site to help guide improvements. We do not collect any personally identifiable information.
We may ask you for your email address and other personal information to support our marketing activities. If you agree and give us this information, we may send you marketing information.
We may also ask you if you want to receive marketing information from selected partner companies. If you agree, we may pass your details to other companies. If you do not agree, we will not pass your details to other companies.
If you no longer wish to receive marketing information from us, please let us know by emailing us as firstname.lastname@example.org, and we will stop sending it. It may take us up to 14 days to process your request.
Before you use Metrici, you must register and give us your email address. We will then use your email address to contact you about the service. Here are some of the things that we might need to tell you about:
- When there is a major upgrade that might affect your use of the service.
- When there are problems with your particular data.
- To warn you that because you have not used the service for a period of time we may suspend or delete your registration and data.
All registered users must agree to receive "service emails" which contain this type of information.
We aim to only send you service emails that are relevant to your use of the service. We aim to stop sending service email four weeks after your last use of the service, unless it is particularly important such as a warning that we may delete your data.
Our service emails may contain short marketing messages. However, these will never be the main content of the email, and will never be the reason for sending the email.
As you use Metrici, you will enter content into Metrici. We treat all such content as confidential.
Under normal conditions we do not access this content ourselves. However, there are some circumstances when we must access this content in order to provide the service. We may have to access the content because you have asked us to provide additional services, such as validating your content. In rare circumstances, we may need to access the content to solve problems and ensure the smooth running of the service.
As part of our commitment to quality improvement, we also analyse use of Metrici to get an overall view of how the service is being used. This analysis does not identify any individual person or company.
We never disclose the content you enter into the service to anyone else.
Metrici will retain your data while your account is active. We may retain your data for a period after account closure for operational and backup purposes, unless you ask us not to.
As part of our systems administration, Metrici retains a limited number of encrypted historical backups. Any data within these will be retained for the retention period of the backup, and we do not remove closed account information from historical backups.
We reserve the right to access and disclose any personal information or Metrici content in order to comply with applicable and lawful government requests, to operate the systems properly, or to protect the interests of ourselves or our customers.
